Let’s face it, whether your in middle school or in high school you are constantly finding yourself pressured to make the term with a 4.0. Parents, your future and even those scholarships stand in the way. Sweat dripping down your forehead and your doing all you can think of to make this happen. Find someplace in your home or place that is quiet and as your study time has arrived head to that location. Be sure that there are no distractions in this room like other students or a TV. You must not get it into your head that study is tedious but consider study as a stepping stone to your goal, and that study is good. View the study as you have accomplished something and get that feeling of accomplishment once you have completed your study. In a few instances it maybe difficult to get the feeling of achievement, just write down the goals you want to achieve from the study and read them to yourself.
A real effort should be made to discover any problems that may be the cause of why a student is not doing or did not do as well as they should be able to do. It is important to figure out what is happening. Even a short down swing in grades can do permanent damage throughout a persons entire life. This can be the cause of people saying, «I didn’t do well in that subject in school so I avoid it.» Doing well in every area of studies will prevent this negative thinking.
I have not personally made the best choices in my life. When my Dad passed away I chose to blame the world and I became very angry and bitter. Rather than choosing to continue living the life that I had been; doing well in school and creating a great life, I chose a different path.
Think of the people that helped you along the way. Reflect to all the trials and obstacles you’ve encountered and use it as an inspiration to move forward. While discovering your life purpose you may also discover a few answers that seem to give you a subtle feeling or emotion, but they don’t quite make you express an emotion outwardly. Highlight those answers as you go along, so you can come back to them later to be able to dig a little deeper, and find out more.
It was during the experience of wanting to escape misery when I discovered a way to enjoy life. First, I had to ‘get up and live’ as my mother used to encourage. Heavy emotions about unsuccessful life made the simple instruction a challenge. I am thankful for the gift of strength and courage. I used the tools I asked God for to get up out of misery and claim desire to live.
