I was moved last week by my daughter-in-law’s comment on the passing of her devoted mother. She quoted President Abraham Lincoln who said, «All I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.» Presidents’ Day is a call to remember who we are. It is a call to remember and appreciate those imperfect men of American history who have made it possible for us to live as we do, enjoy the freedoms we have and to be citizens of the greatest country of all time.
Today’s White Comics studies proponents build on a tradition of research that came mostly from scholars of color: W.E.B. DuBois, Oliver Cox, Carter Woodson, Walter Rodney, Frantz Fanon and many others. In order to survive, black people and other people of color have become shrewd observers of whiteness. Some of the more thoughtful articles that appeared during the recent Democratic primary are modern examples of this.
Have them publish an article about your business’s history in their newsletter. Co-host a lecture about your business or industry history. Offer a special deal to your customers if they join the historical society or museum. Display photographs from the museum’s collection and promote their exhibits. You get the idea – find ways that forge a true partnership, a joint venture, where both partners benefit economically.
Go to your local library – find all the non-fiction books you can about your specific subject and start reading. Remember sometimes you might need some background information to give you a better understanding about your subject. If you are reading about the Roman Empire, you should understand the Roman Republic that came before it.
My view for this piece is way too deep than this. The box for me can be any place. Church, Mosque, Parliament, Round Square, TV, YouTube or anything you can tell speech through. What indicates this piece is the power of media, the power of spoken words. They can change the map, the balance of power in this world. They can move people. They can move armies. Also they can spread peace, hope and better future.

When learning a specific time period or event in help with my paper, I like to challenge my students to find other events similar to what we are learning. Once we have found such an event, having the students «debate» which event was/is greater is so much fun.

Those who study the history of pizza say pizza could have evolved from China. In 1295, Marco Polo returned from China persuading a Naples chef to recreate this stuffed-pancake. Though difficult to recreate, Marco Polo advanced the history of pizza making when he suggested that the filling be placed on top not inside. This technique was wildly successful, adding to the history of pizza. Although the creation of flat bread with toppings resembles a green-onion pancake, it remains a mystery still whether the history of pizza starts with China.
